Enrolment and Payment

Please read below for information on training, uniforms, playing for South Hobart Football Club and the Terms and Conditions of enrolment.

Training

Junior Academy training is held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Junior “Girls Only” sessions will be on Tuesdays, and other session’s are subject to numbers on the day. Mini Mortons training is on Wednesdays only.

Youth Academy training is held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Uniforms

It is a requirement for all players to wear the relevant Nike Academy uniform when attending training. This must be purchased by you and the cost is additional to monthly fees. Uniform is to be purchased directly from our Nike supplier the South Hobart FC Uniform Shop.

Playing for South Hobart Football Club

If you are a member of the Youth Academy it is compulsory that you play for South Hobart Football Club, however, if you are a Junior Academy player this is optional. Please note that if you play for South Hobart Football Club there is a separate additional Club player registration fee. Included in the registration fee is free entry to our HOME National Premier League matches held at Darcy Street.

Players must register online via Play Football. Registrations usually open in January of each year.

The allocation of players to teams will be at the discretion of the SHFC and and Academy Coaching staff.

Terms and Conditions of Enrolment

Submission of your enrolment form indicates your agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.

Payment

1.⁠ ⁠Payment will be deducted via direct debit on a monthly basis on the same day of the month that you submit the direct debit form located on the Morton’s Soccer School (MSS) website. For example, if you submitted the form on 4th February, payment will be processed on the 4th of each subsequent month.

2.⁠ ⁠All direct debits will be cancelled by MSS in December 2025. If your child stops training sooner, please contact MSS to arrange cancellation.

3. Players shall not be permitted to train or play in matches unless the (training and/or player registration) fees have been paid in full.

Cancellation and Replacement of Cancelled Session

4. While Morton's Soccer School will make every reasonable effort to reschedule any academy sessions cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., adverse weather conditions), we are not obligated to provide replacement sessions.

5. The decision to schedule makeup sessions will be at the sole discretion of the academy and subject to the availability of coaches and facilities. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to provide a consistent and high-quality training experience.

6. If a session is cancelled or the venue is changed you will be notified via email and posts will be made via social media. You will not otherwise be contacted.

Injury Waiver

7. Parents and players acknowledge that football (training and games) is a contact sport. Accordingly, parents and players agree to hold South Hobart Football Club (SHFC) and/or Morton's Soccer School (MSS) harmless against all claims arising out of any injury, loss, or damage suffered during participation in any authorised SHFC/MSS football training or game.

8. ⁠In the event of a medical emergency, if a parent/guardian is unavailable, SHFC, MSS, or its officials may arrange medical attention as required during games or training.

Insurance

9. Registered players are covered by Football Australia's National Insurance Program (NIP) through their player registration for training and games.

10. Players who are not registered are not covered by insurance. South Hobart Football Club and/or Morton’s Soccer School will not be held liable for any costs or claims resulting from participation by unregistered players.

11. We strongly recommend that players are covered by private health insurance to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Player and Parent/Guardian Conduct

12. By submitting this form, parents and players agree to adhere to Football Tasmania’s (FT) Parent’s and Player’s Code of Behaviour, as defined on the Football Tasmania website under the Documents and Policies section.

13. Parents are personally responsible for any fines incurred by South Hobart Football Club (SHFC) due to breaches of Football Tasmania’s rules by themselves, their family, or the player registered on this form. By submitting this form Parents agree to fully reimburse SHFC for such fines.

14. The SHFC and/or Morton’s Soccer School reserves the right to suspend or expel from the Academy any player or member failing to abide by the FA/FT rules, regulations and/or codes of the SHFC.

Privacy

15. Morton’s Soccer School is committed to protecting your privacy. Personal information provided during the registration process will only be used for enrolment purposes, communication, and emergency contact.

16. Your information will not be shared with third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

Use of Name, Images and Results

17. From time to time, we may use the name, image, and/or results of players enrolled in our programs to promote South Hobart Football Club, Morton’s Soccer School, or football in general via social media, websites, or other publications. To opt out, please email victoria-mss@bigpond.com.

By submitting an enrolment form in any of our Academy Programs, you acknowledge and agree to the above terms and conditions.

How to Enrol

Select the appropriate training program

Youth Academy is for players aged from 13 to 21 and Junior Academy (including Mini Mortons) is for players aged from 4 to 12.

Please select the relevant Academy program below that you wish to enrol your child in. When completing the payment form, please use your child’s name as the reference number. When you select the relevant program to set up your payment, you will also need to complete the separate enrolment form (the relevant button links are clearly identified with “payment” and “enrolment”).

For parents that share the cost of training, please contact us and you will be sent the direct debit link. Please note that both parents will need to separately complete the direct debit form for your child and must do it on the same day so the payments align. Parents who do not will be invoiced the difference at an additional cost. Only one enrolment form needs to be completed per child. There is an option for the second parent to be sent Academy and South Hobart Football information on the enrolment form.

Training fees are payable monthly in advance and the first payment is due when you submit your enrolment form and will then be taken monthly on the same day that the enrolment form was submitted, that is, if you submitted the enrolment form on 5 May then the next payment will be taken on the 5 June. With payments on a monthly basis players can opt in, opt out or take a break at any time during the year for a month or more.

A reminder that as all payments are due monthly in advance, we recommend that you enrol on, or just before, the first day your child attends.

Important Update: Payment Provider Transaction Fees and Charges

From 1 January 2025, Morton’s Soccer School (MSS) will be passing on transaction fees to clients. These fees have always been part of the payment process, but MSS has previously absorbed them on your behalf. Unfortunately, we are no longer able to continue covering these costs. We have moved to a new payment provider to help reduce these fees and you now have the option to set up a direct debit from your bank account or a credit card.

The transaction fees will be clearly displayed on the form you need to complete to set up the direct debit, ensuring full transparency. These fees are also highlighted below.
